Coming into Trinidad, Colorado earlier today. This puts me about 15 miles from New Mexico, but I'll still catch a few chilly days, from that stupid Northern vortex. 🙄 😒 After that, sunny Arizona awaits me, just West of New Mexico. 😎😉

I met the Village Burgermeister , and his family ..
as a result of getting flooded out of my Campsite, in Bavaria, and seeking help..
27 years ago .. I was their guest for a few days ..

Crossing into New Mexico, at Raton Pass, along I-25, there be bear signs. 😲 I saw 2 bald eagles and 7 mule deer, climbing, so bear 🐻 wouldn't surprise me much.
I beat the weather, through the pass, lol. 👍

CreakingCrank's photo reminded me of this sight I rode past in the valley heading to Lolo Pass on my 2017 tour. Often it's the people who you run across while touring that give you the best memories and stories. But I also have worked in a bike shop for far too many years to not also know that bikes can be the last resort of those who can't find a better way in the world, for whatever reasons. This time I stayed on my side of the road and only paused. This guy was walking his two rigs, a couple hundred feet at a time then going back for the other one. Andy

Just shows, he must be of good country stock. Things don't need to be fancy, they just need to work. 😉

And Doug, you've got me really thinking about sorting through some of my 20 odd years of touring in various parts of the world. and submitting a few pictures in this thread.
