Please adjust the authentication token/cookie from minutes to hours/days

On several occasions, I've literally been timed-out of my session while I was typing a reply.

As you login, do you check the "Remember Me" box?

To be honest, I don't do it consistently.

I'll see if that's the issue.

This happens on mobile as well.

If you don't, that happens, If you had your browser or app remember your logins and passwords and enter a character or two then autocomplete will bring them up.

You also gotta check the box that says "Don't Make My Computer Explode". The default setting for that is "ON".

Kidding of course, but I do find it odd to consistently get logged out after like 30 seconds, it doesn't exactly make me feel welcome here.

Checking "Remember Me" has been fixing the problem, but I'll speak with our tech team to try and take care of the timed-outs.

This seems to have fixed it.

But, I've been here since 2005 and I've never seen the logout if it's not checked be so aggressive.

This workaround doesn't address the unexpected behavior.

This is like having my car's gas meter read 1/2 a tank but I run out of gas and you suggest that I carry a gas can with gas with me at all times to deal with it

This is one of the only 3 or 5 sites that I allow to leave a cookie on my machine
