Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah ok. I think of #3 as Raw/Black, hence the confusion. I could really go either way on the top 2. I chose your #2 as #1 mainly because it's what I have. BBQ looks superb on bikes with carbon hoops and white wheel decals ala Zipp, Reynolds, older Enve, etc.

Honorable mention goes to this scheme:

And for 2013, this Black/Raw with the Zipp wheels is really doing it for me:

I dont know. I always drooled over this guys Raw bike. I do like all the black frames too, but theres something about that raw frame. Anyone can have a painted bike, but not anyone can have a raw alloy bike....

^^ Yep I almost posted that pic. Always loved it. Besides the sick wheel/frame combo, the lighting of the photo really brings out the beauty of the raw frame.

All this talk is making me think about the wanting an all-black bike again... When I went to the LBS to check out my CAAD10, I was hoping it'd be the black/white version. Not to say I'm not pleased. Black/white is just drop dead classy.

I'm not sure if this question has been answered already, but here goes. I currently have a 2012 CAAD8-6. It has done me well. It got me into the sport and has got me through some races. I feel it is time to upgrade, for starters, the gearing is way to small for south FL, plus I feel like a bike could have more feedback, especially when sprinting and what not. I am sticking to Cannondale and am either between the CAAD10 and supersix. As far as how I plan to ride, I do mainly group rides with a couple of 50-60 milers on the weekend. And of course, I'm getting into racing and I really like it so I plan to do compete often. I train with many of the races who I compete with so the rides are decent pace with many attacks and surges. I was offered a 2013 supersix with rival for $2300 new which is what I'm looking to get. Many people say CAAD10's are perfect for crit's, but then many others say the supersix is an amazing bike. I'm 21 so comfort for me is not a concern.

Thoughts?

Doesn't BBQ refer to a matte black version? #1 above looks gloss black but can't really tell.

What size are you looking for? I just upgraded from my '12 CAAD10 team. I have a set of SISLs as well. IMHO the CAAD was a great bike and I tried quite a few high end carbon frames and would still pick the 10. The SS is a great bike too however I would go CAAD10 unless you can swing an Evo.

Looking for a 54. I use a 56 now but I've been told the 54 would fit me better, even though I feel fine in the 56. The same store offered me the '13 evo red for $3500 but that's way out of my price range.

My CAAD is a 58. That '13 Evo red is so nice though

I like the 4's black and yellow, this is the 1st one I've seen outside of Cannondale's website.

Yeah that 10-4 is nice, it doesn't look good on Cannondale.com but it looks sweet in person. My LBS has one in my size, if I only had $1700 I would own it. Thanks for posting it, good to see a different color bike. everyone loves black bikes. That's why I love my CAAD7 so much, it's not a common color and I never see it when I am out riding.

It weighs in at 16.67lbs as shown. Pretty good for not even trying!

I wasn't sure on the black and yellow when I first ordered it - the picture in the book definitely is not good - but was very happy when opened the box to build it!

I was thinking the same BUT my Cannondale is BBQ and was matte until I waxed it. It strangely is now a glossy matte if you can imagine that. The appearence saddens me so I'm hoping the wax will one day wear down. Lesson is don't wax a matte (BBQ) Cannondale.

What it looks like now...

Before....

why on earth would you wax a "matte" finish??? As stated, dish soap brakes down wax so it should help. If not, you can also use a product called "bug be gone" which is specifically for bugs, grime, oils and layers of wax off a vehicle so you can start new again.
