Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’d change the seat and bar tape a bit, otherwise a cool looking bike in my book. But nothing beats a Baum.

I like the yellow just not that yellow and the seat is too bulky. Does not look right
Also the yellow of the seat and bars is different. But still a very cool bike in my opinion.

Well I'm still waiting to see if any of the original Gentleman's Poodle & Grouse Society guys can dig up a pic of any of the bikes with Greg Lemond from their origin. That may drive how this winds up a bit. The other issue is the Icon Stem was recalled so I've got to do something about that too as everything I have get's ridden. And then of course, the saddle has to work for me.

Still, the saddle on there was good enough for a certain doper named Lance.....

My recent Jamis Quest build. Had some leftover parts from upgrades and needed a frame. Shopped the LBS and came across this NOS 2005(ish) Quest frame. Owner didn't recall were it came from , but had never had component installed. Still had paint in BB threads. Has 7 speed on it now, may do something with that later. nice riding bike KB.

I don't know if anyone has heard of Oasis bikes. I never had until someone posted it in another section. He's a framebuilder in AZ and his prices are pretty good.

I'm going to put this out there.

Yes, it is fixed gear. I hope that doesn't offend anyone - that isn't my intent and I would not presume to call it a road bike. At the same time however, it was conceived and built for road riding. It isn't a converted track bike. I'm posting it as an example of "Modern steel" and R+E Cycles AKA Rodriguez makes beautiful geared bikes too.

The frame is custom geometry, threaded bottom bracket, two cage mounts and internal routing for the rear brake cable. True Temper S3 tubes are shaped - the top tube is an inverted teardrop and the down tube is ovalized at the head tube and bottom bracket.

Built this frame over the winter and spring in a local class. Its Columbus Zona tubing and i built it up last month with Ultegra shifting, a Praxis Zayante crank, trp957 brakes, and Ritchey wcs cockpit.
65cm c to t and weighs 21.5# with pedals and cages. Not featherweight, but neither am i.

fun experience for sure!
it's brand new and has all new current components, so it seems modern enough for this thread, even with the lugged construction.
the seatstays are silver soldered to a heart shaped piece of tubing thats connected to the seat tube and then fillet brazed to smooth everything out. Kinda creative, though nothing wild like some frames in this thread.
