Ripped Selle Anatomica
Discovered this when I removed it to replace the seatpost. Shocking ;it's 7 months old, about 3000 miles, I've kept the tension per recommendations, it's an H2 and I'm well under the weight. Treated with their sauce on the underside, little expose to moisture. I was just starting to feel like I was getting it dialed in. We'll see how their warranty policy works out.

FWIW, many years ago I had a different model. A rail cracked, probably when I hit a hard, invisible bump in the road. Selle warrantied it with no questions.
Good luck!

Selle Anatomica makes it very clear that you should NOT use Proofide on their saddles.

The rails are chromolly steel, the only option on the H1 big boy model. I guess pictures can lie.

Yes, but applying Proofide would not cause it to crack, it would actually do the opposite. It would be more apt to stretch when over-treated with something lie Proofide. That is what Selle Anatomica is concerned about, since their saddles tend to stretch more than say a Brooks. The leather cracked, that is from a leather being too dry.

I would definitely contact them and send them some pictures. I have this saddle on my trainer bike. It is not exposed to the elements, but it does get a lot of use. I have not treated it at all with anything. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it.

Following up, they did warrant the saddle. I'm awaiting the repaired saddle now.
