ALL CITY BIG BLOCK question
I recently got ALL CITY BIG BLOCK. Love the bike.
I would like to get a little more comfortable by raising handlebars higher.
I searched many sites but this is a very "loaded/complicated" topic. Would like to hear recommendations from people who ride Big Block...
Q. Do I need a different "raised" stem?
Q. Would it be possible to simply install couple more spacers on steerer tube?
Q. Do I need a stem riser?
I. Bike frame is 58. I am about 6.1.
Thank you

How much higher do you want to go? You need to know that in order to make the easiest/best/cheapest/visually appealing decision.
Do you like the shape and size of your current bar?

It depends on how much steerer tube you have showing. Can you post a side view picture of the bike? You can easily get a stem with more rise that should help. Post the picture, then we will go from there.

Not a Big Block Rider,
But you could most definitely raise the stem by putting spacers underneath it. has your fork been cut? is there space above your stem to bring it up?
Also you can install the stem in either direction, one way usually providing lift instead of drop,
that's another option to getting a little more upright without any new purchases

Did you buy the stock build? I have the same bike. The Kalloys it comes with are like the deepest drops I've ever seen. I would consider switching the bars out for basically any other track drop and you'll be much more comfortable. The Big Block also has a longer top tube for each size. For example, my 55 has a 56 cm top tube. A shorter stem might help, too.

Looks like you are maxed out as far as spacers. You need a stem with more angle.
Here is a calculator to help figure out what angle and length you'll need.

It looks to me like your problem is too much reach rather than not enough rise. Bullhorns like those have a lot more reach than other bars and you probably need either a much shorter stem or horns with a lot less reach. I don't see a lot of drop there.

Your cog is slipping.
Your entire bike setup is wacky. Saddle height (or lack thereof) indicates that your bike is too big, yet you have an insane amount of reach and handlebar height in relation to your saddle position. You're literally reading up and forward when your hands are on the horns.
I can't even imagine comfortably riding a bike set up as such.

Your cog is slipping.
Much shorter stem and lower handlebars. You should never be reaching up to grab your bars.
Saddle-to-bar drop, not the other way around.

Scrodzilla Believe it or not I bought Big Block after reading one of you posts on these forum ...Shorter raised stem? Maybe adjustable stem? What do you mean by "lower" handlebars? But I am 6 ft and frame is 58...that should be correct?

I didn't look at your pics till now. Does look a little wonky. And no suggestions for riser bars since I have never owned any.
Are you new to bikes or what is your background? I found that sometimes when people are not used to riding they perceive it as uncomfortable. My roommate is just about my size and same proportions but he said my bike was too uncomfortable and he had me slam the seat post completely down so he could ride it. It was wack. He also thinks skinny saddles hurt and that they should be padded and like a foot wide.
Maybe you should go to a local bike shop and have them help you with the fit. Sounds like you need a lot of help and I'm sure they could provide that for you. They will have everything you need too.
And by lower handlebars, I think he means your handlebars need to be lower. Just a guess though...

That stem looks to be at least 100mm if not more, and the saddle looks to be too low. The bullhorns you have on there have a lot of reach to them. I think you need to raise the saddle, get a shorter stem, and then bullhorns with less reach to them. Fyxation bullhorns have a huge reach like that while other brands do not. I would avoid adjustable stems unless you can get one with a shim that will allow you to change the rise of it. Not one with the allen screw on the side that seems unsafe.

LOL Yes.No Doubt. Anyway I am going to try to sell this bike and get a smaller frame 55. I think the bike is awesome but comfort is important to me. I am not 20 anymore . When i stop and put my feet on the ground I get that uncomfortable feeling we all know where I was thinking long and hard about changing to short stem and riser bars. But that uncomfortable feeling will not go away when i stop. But thanks to you guys at least now I understand that frame size is the problem. What pisses me off is that i went back to LBS and tell them about the frame size. There answer was "Yeah. Probably too big, but no big deal". Anyway like I said listed my bike on ebay. Will see.
