Love it! Watch where you park that thing, they'll steal it for the copper.

Here is a pic of a bike I built for my son. I put it together with a 26" walmart bike I got for free and a 16" kids bike that derrick rode when he was little. He says its the most comfortable bike he's ever been on! He loves riding it and, it gets TONS of comments. Its got little itty bitty cranks and the 16" rear wheel with a coaster brake hub.

I saw a bike today. 26" rear, beach cruiser type frame, the smallest kiddie tire you can imagine, maybe 10-12"? on the front. Guy was wearing tie dye, and a straw hat with no top on the head part. An interesting character to say the least.

Jimmy, that tandem tall bike with the hexagon frame (pic #3 in the slideshow) is just so cool. Compliments to the builder!

framteam's beast

frameteam2003... where's the commentary?? who's the craftsman, and does the bike have a name?
i love it, except the rear dropouts look like they're going to, well, drop out.

or were you going to fix that after the bike gets a rear tyre?

Thanks, knew ya'll be of help.Just changed out the dropouts, put some tires and gave it a spin.Rides ok once you get it moving---I really should lower the gear as that 62 tooth front sprocket is geared very high---starting is a bear.---sam(haven't built a tall bike in 40 years)

Oh you mean the one with REAR SUSPENSION? "Cool" doesn't do that bike justice.

Love the Texas tall bike too, very elegant. And Bikenstein's greenie meanie? Bad ass. Nice work you guys, when people complement my tall bike I hang my head in shame knowing it's nothing compared this stuff.

Not as much customizing as some of your rides, but I am proud of how it is coming out.
https://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...%20bike/01.jpg

I started with a 1980's Murray Monterey given to me by a friend. Rims and front fork were trashed, so I stripped down the frame with a "rat rod" theme in mind. Bare minimum, do all the work myself, flat black primer, and get the parts I need either second hand or as cheep as possible. New front fork came from an 80's Schwinn road bike. Handlebars that I got to go on it were hanging around my dad's shed (nice set or risers that I traded him an old pair of mountain bike handlebars for them). Wheels will be a new set of 24" w/coaster brake. Seat and grips will be found at the local swap meet once it re-opens this month. Want to finish it by the end of October '06 in time to cruise it around at a local classic car show. I will post more (better looking) pics as I make progress, I am getting really excited about this.

Well, here she is. I named her "Manana", spanish for "morning", but with the slang meaning of "tomorrow sometime". It took me a little over a year because I kept telling myself I would get to it "tomorrow sometime", lol.

Proudest moment with it: I rode it to my favorite bike shop, and as I rolled in on it two little boys looked at it wide eyed and said "whooooooooooooooooooooooa!!"

Dude..! Where'd you get that giant sprocket? I want to make a high geared single speed and that would be awesome..!

I recently built this one with a 52 front. Even with 3 speed first gear feels like an old fifties ballooner bike. 3rd is really stiff, and spooky at top end, hehe. The bars were too low, and got swapped for some 3 speed OCC stingray risers.,,,,BD
