Celeste Bianchi model ID and value

Hello everyone,

Trying to identify what I believe to be an early 80s Bianchi. Looks like SR brake levers and crankset but NR rear and GS front derailleurs? Brake calipers are ? Hubs either Gs or Tipo? Does not match any catalog models that I can tell. It’s handsome but has some corrosion issues. I’m considering buying but really would like to know more. Now it’s time for the experts to chime in on model ID and value. Thanks in advance for your help!

Looks like a Campione Del Mondo. That model is just a step down from the top two models: Super Corsa and Super Leggera. This one looks in decent condition - and that rust may clean up well. I had worse on the chrome headlugs on my '81 SL and none remains today

You can get an idea of value from this price list from 1980:

The Piaggio decals either side of the seat tube and tubing decal above the gear levers suggest 1981; that's from information gathered while identifying mine. Hubs look to be GS and the brake levers Super Record.

flipper;

check it out VERY closely.seller flips junk+.will only meet.looked at a fuji last year & didn't say the rear dropout was repaired.off a@@ weld -frame was junk for $80.drives a beat up F150.thinking the seller paid a minimum hence check it closely for damage-internal rust-stuck post-stem-etc./search oxford & note the other low line big dollar bikes.

-----

since kitting nearly all NR the wheels constructed with NT/NGS hubs must be replacements

possible that originals may have been destroyed in an "event"; one would want to examine closely frame for any impact deformation...

I ending up passing on the bike. Guy said he bought it in a lot ,the others being Schwinns. Did not sound like he knew much about it. If you search campione del mondo in bikeforums Chas verktyg has one and likes the way it rides.

thanks @02 nrs for the heads up.

I think once upon time the Bianchi may have looked like this although Chas’ also had an SR chainring on his... thanks DD you were spot on
