Yeah, I don't know the details but I believe Sky was bought by a big evil American company (Comcast maybe?) and they decided to end sponsorship. So a big evil polluter stepped up. I think there was a lot of grumbling because Sky was pushing clean oceans etc. and now the team is sponsored by a big producer of what's ruining the oceans.

I knew them well when I was still in the plastics field. And when I consulted after retirement, they were a supplier to one of my clients who had me as a go between for technical issues involving plastics selection and usage. So I worked with them at their facility at their Houston facility on Galveston Bay. IIRC they were formed out of the old Amoco petrochemical businesses. Maybe 15 years ago or so.

I actually have moved on from my vodka phase which took up most of the last 15 years or so, really. Now the red wine sub-phase which was always there is now the dominant phase, and top shelf bourbon has become the sub-phase. It's complicated.

Just stopped mid-ride at a favorite cafe. Saw a mom clip her helmet on backwards and couldn't bring myself to say anything. Half a block later, she stopped, took it off, shook out her hair... and put it on backwards again.

Well it was on sale and I was able stack a rebate on top of it. Hubby gets to drink tonight if he wants, I get to babysit.

Not even in college? Most kids go buck wild in college, trying new things, I know I did. Especially in the late 60s.

Hey Les, I'm prolly not going to do any riding in Phoenix when I'm there next week, I was just fooling myself early on. But maybe we can get together for lunch or something one day.

Nope. I think I was too uptight in college. I did have a few times that I drank a bit in my mid 20’s. Let’s say it did not end well. :barf:

As am I. I was a binge drinker; never drank a beer in my life but drank 6+ at a sitting at least once a week. My family has a couple certified alcoholics, one deceased at 48.
I quit because of cycling. I was riding a lot of centuries in the Fall of '83 and buying a 12-pack afterwards. After back to back centuries in high heat and humidity one weekend, I decided right then and there that I could either drink or ride a bike. I chose riding a bike. Been a teetotaler ever since and never looked back.

Alcohol responsibly is probably fine but if you are in an all-or-none situation, the answer is none. The way to win the game is not to play.
