Giant Cypress vs Trek FX 7000

Assuming both rideable and in descent shape. The FX 7000 is older I guess and I can probably get for 60-75. The Giant Cypress is $130. Is the Cypress worth twice the price or are they basically the same bike.

It looks like the Trek sold, as its listing isn't available any longer (did you buy it?). With any bike, especially used, it's got to fit you well. If you're buying new, you can usually choose different frame sizes, but used bikes are what they are and, while you can usually adjust things like seat post height and stem height and length, you can only go so far with making a bike that doesn't really fit you, fit you...know what I mean? If you didn't buy the Trek, and assuming you're still interested in the Giant, it looks like it's in good shape and $130 is a reasonable asking price. You may be able to buy it with a $100 bill if the seller's had it for a while. It looks like it has a 3x drivetrain, and probably has a 7-speed cassette on the back (a plus if it has a cassette). Depending on how it was stored, you may want to replace brake and shift cables and brake pads, as the cables may have gotten gummy or corroded and the pads may have hardened from age or weather exposure.

I used to own a Cypress. I had a lot of issues with the saddle clamp and overall assembly.

Yah. It sold. There's a Trek 7100 I'm going to look at Sunday. I don't love the front fork suspension but if I can get it for $60-70 it's worth a shot
