Can you race a falcon? Or other critter?
My boyfriend found this today:
Naturally, my first thought was, if this tried to race me on the bike, would it win? And is there a Strava category for this?
I'm sure that many of the 41ers have tried to shame animals by racing them. Admit to it here.

A sleeping sloth would kick my arse, so there's no doubt a winged creature would slaughter me.

There's a redtail in my area that's snapping up a lot of KOMs, but I've taken a few back. I'll admit that he's a better descender, though.

I actually sprint the neighbor's corgis for fun when I go by their house, until they run out of fence Despite extremely undersized legs, those dogs can go 18-22 mph over short stretches!

Be careful where you post those pictures. I'm pretty sure that keeping a wild falcon in your garage will run afoul of some fish & game laws...

I have raced dogs, goats, Peragrines, Falcons, and a few other animals.
Lost to them all.

Of course, just not on the MUP and only if the aforementioned critter also knows you're racing.

I raced elk before. They did that move where they make a right turn once they get ahead of me, just like people on the MUP.
There was this guy, but he's a better climber than I am, and we were on Mt Rainier, so it wasn't very fair.

I raced a fawn for a while once... outside of town, with fenced in ranches for a while on either side of the road, and it was trying to get away from me. Poor thing thought I wanted venison.

Bailey has hit 23-24 a couple of times. But he's geared low for better acceleration.
I raced dog down a big hill at 32. As I started to approach 33-4 he drifted back.
I have been dive bombed by two big falcons, they went screaming past me at amazing speed. I gave them the "look". Their "look" back, was worse, and they have the talons to back it up.

It can be tricky getting them on a bike sometimes.
