back when I could, I used to love being out early for a ride, especially to work. I used to meet up with the boss and we would ride this 20-25 mile loop and collect a few other commuters along the way and they would drop off as we went past their office. the boss and I would often stop for a coffee and bagel, doctors have to be at work by 7 or 8 but us lowly bike shop workers could have a leasurely breakfast. then to the shop for a shower clean the bike and begin the day. I really miss the bike business but they money just wasn't that great.

what is the new build anyway?

I prefer lunch rides but early morning is a good time as well. Too bad I am usually groggy.

Get out and ride before the cages start rolling!

Plus it's really the only time of day you can ride this time of year in Tucson.

when I lived near Boston I had to bike to work one winter. you don't stay groggy in 10d weather for long!

I biked to work many a winter in colorado. I could still find a way to be groggy at -15F to 15F.
Thank goodness for caffeine.

It'll sober you up pretty quick, too.

I've become a nighttime guy. I got back into cycling as a commuter but when my office moved increasing my one-way distance from 7 to 17 miles, the commute time just made that tough to do. So now I cage it to work, come home and do some dinner and spend some time with the wife, then set out on the bike, usually returning after she's in bed. She's a lot happier that way than for me to ride to work and delay her dinner. The nice thing is she actually told me she's okay with me riding virtually every night (she's a teacher and her evenings are usually filled with schoolwork). Anyway, I kinda like the quiet of the evening. Mostly a peaceful ride, even through the city.

They are the best. I'm not a morning person at all, but on Ragbrai I can't wait to get on the road, usually by 5:30.

Mornings and nights, when it's cool and the streets are empty. Just spectacular riding. =)

It would be nice but I am too lazy to wake up that early. For now it's evening rides once the temp goes back under 100F...heh.

I ride at nights when getting home late, but used to love the coming home from work while others are going to work feeling when I worked nights in college during the summers.

Big time morning rider. I love being on the road when the sun is first breaking over the horizon, especially in winter. It's almost a spiritual thing.
