Test ride of my Origami Bull. Overall a quite pleasant experience. I need to upgrade the seat, pedals, and switch to ergonomic grips, and I might swap the fenders for some composites. Otherwise, it's a smooth ride.

I've never seriously considered a 451 BF, due to the limited tire selection, but this is a great explanation of why they went that way. I'll have to keep my eyes open for one of these!

When I ride the Pocket Crusoe (406), that illusion is gone. It's a fine bike - and one that will likely see more touring miles than the Pocket Rocket - but it falls short of feeling like a 700c roadbike. To be frank, I was surprised myself; I was expecting the Pocket Crusoe (406) to be virtually the same as the Pocket Rocket. But the difference is there and it's tangible, and now I understand why Bike Friday's designers went with 451 for the Pocket Rocket when they designed the bike.

Spending Thanksgiving at my nieces. She lives in Morrisville which is outside Charlotte NC.

Nice old downtown but revitalized as well.

They have a train go through town!

Nice coffee shop and I was ready for a cup. Summit Coffee Cafe.

This is from a time gone by… a gift from the HS class of 1951 to the town and teachers who made them ready for the world.

I have to correct myself again!! It’s becoming a regular thing I’m afraid.

my ride was in Mooresville, not Morrisville…

Sorry!

My Brompton with 20" wheel conversion on a ride across southern India earlier this year, there are times when a speeding Tata lorry is not the most hazardous thing to cyclists on the roads there.

Converted a used Pocket Crusoe to narrow flat bars and it's been a revelation. It's a fun, playful bike that can tour and tool around town. And roll into the back of the Honda Element when I pick it up from the shop.

I've also got a Zizzo Liberté, which is a fun, affordable, and light (23#) folder for town but it lacks the ride quality of the Pocket Crusoe. On the surface they are similar - light 20" flat bar folders - but they are totally different rides.

The Liberté fold is faster and neater for multi-modal travel and it's not so precious to leave locked outside while shopping, so it still has its place and I like bashing around town with it.

It should be noted that the Bike Friday is multiple times more expensive than the Zizzo, but that differential drops precipitously when you buy a used Bike Friday. If you're looking for an affordable folder for long days in the saddle, a used Bike Friday is a great option.

Here is my Polish Romet Wigry, on a trip to visit my garage, which is some distance from where I live. Wigrys usually have 24 or 28 spoke wheels, but I swopped these wheels off another much later Polish bike to give me 3 gears as well as the coaster brake, as well as the seat.

Sadly I plan on changing the 2-piece crank off here as they no longer make these cranks, so I am going to replace them on several of my bikes with later 3-piece cranks.

This is my relatively rare Polish Romet Jubilat-Zenit. I have modified this bike a lot, and the changes keep happening to it. Here it has the seat from my other, 1970s Wigry as well as a homemade 'tank'.

You can see that I have already replaced the crank and BB on this one, and modified the frame to take a different front fork.

This house is a classic Polish country house that has recently been moved back from the edge of the road, and you can see the pale blue painted original wooden timber walls of the house. Our house is very similar, with the original blue boards signifying that unmarried women lived there, later painted white when they were all married, then timber clad like this one and now clad in polystyrene foam.

It is great to see you back Geepig. I was speculating that the war next door might have taken your mind off trivial pursuits like the Bike Forums.

Picked this one up from FB Marketplace for $150.00
Seller even delivered it to my location.
Slight modifications, titanium seatpost in my basement, removed fenders, small stem just for slight longer reach, front rack, Prolite crankset & chainring.
Bike feels very light compared to my 5 year old, Sunrace folding bike.
