Just finished this '94 Specialized HardRock Rebuild
Just showing off, here.
I took a lot of "during" the rebuild pics so if you want to see the build in progress the full album is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rattle...57718972999973Here's what it looked like when I got it:
Here's the glamour shots I took today to post it for sale. Hope you like how it turned out as much as I do!

Thanks. I was pretty pleased how it turned out. I wish all the shades of red were more matched but in the end it's pretty close. I thought it was funny how even the grips and the chainring both from RaceFace weren't the same shade of red lol.
Hopefully someone scoops it up soon so I can make my money back heh

It is. It's an 11-42t 9 speed cassette. I swapped out the wheels for new ones that had a 9 speed hub. The entire groupset is Microshift Advent so I had no issues with the new derailleur working with the cassette size.

Very nice build. Love the mix of old and new. Canti’s and Advent... excellent.

I'm sorry, but why do all this work to a Hardrock? Surely would be better to be patient and find a Stumpjumper... big difference in the frames.

The frame belonged to a friend of mine in the neighborhood. She didn't want it anymore and it had been sitting in storage for almost 20 years. I got it for free. This was a rebuild of opportunity.

I assume your referring to the tires? No, there were no clearance issues. I sold this to a BF member shortly after completing - not sure if they've switched anything out since then!

Yep, I was asking about the tires, thank you! I have a set ordered for my 94. I’m doing a 1x conversion also. Love your bike!
