Cannondale Quality...

Today I visted a number of bicycle shops in my area looking to purchase a new road bike. Only one shop sold Cannondales, the rest said they no longer carry the brand because of quality issues after their sale to Doral. Is this true? Has Cannondale build-quality really gone down the proverbial crapper?

Thanks,
Ross

A number of shops? Nevertheless, answer is no.

Sounds to me those shops were dropped by Cannondale or they didn't like terms or something of that nature so they dropped Cdale. Either way, find a shop that doesn't speak with their heads up the ol' wazoo!

I don't think I could ever buy a mountain bike with a "lefty", but a road bike? Hell yeah!

Thanks for the replies. Four different shops had nothing but negative things to say about Cannondale, which didn't really mesh with what I had come up with in my research so I just wanted some reassurance before pulling the trigger on one. Gonna pick up an Optimo 105... Very excited!

Much appreciated,
Ross

About 2 months ago I bought my first Cannondale. A CAAD 12. Love it. (Not posting a pic in deference to some who think it's been posted enough already. )

Cannondale is just as good as any of the big time players in cycling. That shop must have smelled really bad when you were inside, no?

Wait- you went to 5 shops in your area and they all used to carry Cannondale, but only 1 still does?
How big is your area?...usually there is a limit to the number of dealers in a geographic area.

You managed to pick 4 shops which I certainly would question their capability/competency.

My 2015 Synapse performed flawlessly today on my 67 mile ride in southwest Georgia. And has for the over 4,000 miles I've ridden it since I bought it on 8/23/18. Amazing bike!

My local Cannondale dealer stopped selling them last year because their warranty support went down the drain. Lack of special parts availability and continuously increasing lead times for frame and headshok warranties just became unacceptable.

They may be correct. My caad 10 is flawless. Can't say the same for my newer supersix and caad.

Start watching at 29 min mark.
Also in one of his videos he said cervelo opened up their tolerances and to stay away from them too.
