The garage (building) is finished! Spent the past week finishing the interior, got the home Wifi node set up in the attic, and reestablished the connection to the other garage/wife's hidey hole. Got a couple of house chores to do in the next day or so, primarily getting the Income Tax done, and then I start plumbing for the air system. Compressor and bottom half of the toolbox scheduled to be picked up this weekend.
So far, my hoped for 1 April finishing date is staying on schedule.
Outside, rear
Inside, giving an idea what I've got when the wife's car is parked. Usually, it's outside when I work.

Nice looking shop. I'm a little jealous. I gotta guy working on a design for a patio and driveway with storage shop for me. I'm a little nervous how pricey it's gonna be.

One holdup is that I lost five pairs of car vanity plates in the fire, well loved ones that I periodically cycled thru. Probably going back to either RNDHEAD (Roundhead) or SHRT MKR (shirtmaker) on the van. Just haven't had the time with working on the garage. And reenactment season starts in two weeks.

Looking good!
Just curious: Is the interior sheathing fire rated?
Speaking of vanity plates. Here in NH, where we only have just over a million residents (and it's predicted that the 2020 census will reveal a population drop), our nearly 14% goes a long way. I've had 3 different vanity tags over the course of my 19 years living here. Currently I'm running in stealth mode!
Something C&V I picked up for @cudak888 and it still needs to be shipped to FL!!!!

I had the VELO plate on my old Dasher wagon in the '80s but moved away and then back and never got back into the plate thing until recently when I picked up a little something for our Vanagon. That accent mark, by the way, is Austro-Daimler touchup paint for an SL/SLE that we had in the shop at the time.
Back to the new structure, I was going to make a smartass remark about the crappy old floor detracting from the new building when I realized you need not worry about spills of anything staining and ruining a new slab. Very clever of you.

The OSB used to panel the walls is whatever Home Depot keeps in stock. I'll freely admit I'm not worrying that much regarding fire-proofness. I figured I've had my lightning strike, on that site, anyway.

From the looks of it, it is in better shape than my existing one, and should polish up ridiculously well too. Front fender is probably the only slightly rough bit.

I'm about to leave on sabbatical and plan to be back in NH for a few weeks in late April to early May. Maybe in that time frame. I'm supposed to then head to Italy southern France and Greece for a month+. At this particular moment--- that trip is not looking very likely.

I'm supposed to be in St. Augustine the last weekend of April - if that helps.

I used to have "ALEWIFE" for my vanity plates. But then I decided my driving habits were too sketchy and having the plate made it easier to find/remember me. I had a car that I purchased from Grappone many moons ago and I peeled off the vinyl letters until it just read "RAP ON Ford".
Nice looking garage there! But way too empty. Need more bikes.

As for the little trip...not likely or advisable. Later on in the year ought to be a much better choice. Might even be able to get a flight that isn't packed like sardines.

The workbench got built today. Tomorrow is a double shelf for the car side of the garage for chemicals, car care products, anything not having to do with the workshop. Friday, pick up the compressor and start laying in the air piping.
Once that's done, it's just a matter of buying tools/equipment and installing them. 1 April is looking a bit on the conservative side.
On the downside, all three of my commuters are out of action. Both roadsters are down with flat tires, and 40-635 tubes aren't something you find at WalMart. Coming home from today's ride, my Raleigh Sprite (S5) snapped the right pedal.
This is when the loss of the parts department really hurts.

Richmond hasn't had a dockless bike problem. We've got a docked bicycle system that's slowly dying on the vine since the dockless scooters arrived last year. On the second try. The first time, some firm showed up one night and dumped a load of them around the city. The next morning, since they hadn't asked permission, the city had the street crews out and confiscated them all. Said company came back to negotiate shortly afterwards, and their second batch of scooters were allowed to stay.

I've been meaning to see if a low-cost e-bike can be built with using nothing but the stock guts from a retired Segway Ninebot ES-series scooter. Motor wheel mounted on a rack driving the rear wheel of the bike with stock motor controller and hardware.

They were never claimed and were eventually auctioned off.

I may still have one of the pedals from my 68 Sprite around. I'll have to check and see what side. originals had one repaired by welding the nut on so I replaced them. It would be this style.
