So i've been cleaning and polishing all the parts trying to make them look as good as I can. It still has a ways to go but I'm very happy with it so far.

GREAT JOB on the H'worth, btw. I have a Holdsworth frame that look exactly like the one in the first pic. Its all stripped of parts and ready to begin a new paint job. I even got the decals!

Modern urethanes do not require sanding between coats. The paint I used (PPG Shop Line) states spray on a coat then wait 5-10 mins then spray the next coat until you get the coverage you want.
If you wanted to wet sand each coat you would have to wait at least 24 hrs for it to dry to sand between coats. I believe that's how laquer was done back in the day.
Urethane is much more durable, u/v resistant and resistant to chipping than lacquer plus laquer is considered illegal to use in most states now. There is a modern version of it that law enforcement will look the other way but its not true lacquer

FINISHED
I finally got the seat, bar tape and other misc stuff I needed to complete the Holdsworth. I took it out yesterday and the chain came apart,,,twice. So that was replaced and I took it out today again. It only has 50 miles on it so far but I am extremely happy with the way it rides and handles. It weighs in at 20.6lbs. Not a lightweight but for what it is I'm happy. It's only a few pounds more than some new and expensive bikes. Granted some stuff is not period correct but it's a rider not a display piece. Thanks for the comments you guys have given so far. Please let me know what you guys think of my first restoration job.

Great restoration work.
I sorta wanted a Rolex, but they were expensive. Last time in Hong Kong, I bought 4 for $40. Such a deal.

I have put just over 400 miles on the Holsworth. It has been a great bike to ride. In that time the only issues have been a bad chain and a flat tire. Some people have asked me if it is a reproduction.....I guess that's a good thing.

The pro team Holdsworth had a wrap over single piece seat stays. Many Holdsworth have wrap over seat stays but the section of the pro version's that wrapped over the front of the seat lug was about 3/8 thick - the wrap on any non-team version was about half that thickness.
