A Centurion Ironman just popped up on the local CL for $115. Too small for me.
https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/1331186065.html
Probably five minutes or so from where I work though.

Should I use the "plastic fantastic" i.e. credit card? Is this worth it?

Hmmm... Good price for a Mondia. It even has the extra braking feature where the tire rubs against the downtube!

You can probably call the Ironman gone. I was the first one there and a father/daughter pulled in 30 seconds behind me. They had another 3 or 4 people on the way. It looked in good shape and measured to about 53ctt seattube and 53 top tube. Too small for but looked like a perfect fit for the daughter so I passed on it and let them have it. I think she's going to be one happy kid.
Another one will come along for me.

Craigslist is a funny game, apparently the father / daughter pair passed on the deal. He'll probably go to Transitions and buy her a $3,000 bike instead.
And, DCV45, it's purple not pink.
If I end up with this thing I'll post up some better pics of it. I'll have to give it a real close look first to make sure the father didn't find something that I missed on it.

excellent frame, looks like wheels were swapped for something cheap & 27". from the little I've learned about Bertonis, there were no 27" wheeled models. Then again, CL isn't known for absolute accuracy either....

Could be, I'm not good at defining colors beyond the primary red, blue, and green or yellow.
I'm off to see if I can catch the mouse....

A little bit young for a C&V bike, and definitely not cheap, but could be collectible?

1996 GT EDGE Olympic Training bike - $1600 (Cambridge)

Reply to: sale-5rgza-1331777532@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Freshly built/restored.
Own a piece of nostalgic GT/Atlanta Olympic History
Numbers;
Parallel 74 60cm c-t 54.5 c-c ST, 55cm TT
410 chain stays, 13.5 head tube... higher bb than normal.... Grrreat crit bike, and the excel tube set is both light and wonderfully springy.
Remember everyone, the 74degree seat angle makes the effective reach on this frame pretty long. It would be a very nice ride for someone who rides a parallel 73deg bike with a 110 stem, for instance...
This was someone's training bike for a season, and then became a roof bike for 2 seasons on the Shaklee team, so there are some paint scuffs...
That beautiful blue paint still makes me have unpure thoughts though...
7700 is getting harder to find... and a Excel tubed 1996 race bike, well, crap, it doesn't get much better.
Parts-
Full DA 7700 9v group (except for Cane Creek brake levers)
11-23 block, 172.5 cranks
NOS cinelli 13cm Stem and mod. 64 40cm bars.

full specs:

Fork-GT Aluminum
Headset- Shimano Dura-Ace cartridge

Here's a nice smaller Shogun with Shimano Golden Arrow on Chicago CL. I know the seller, he's also on Bike Forums and is a fine mechanic.
https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bik/1332043140.html
Not sure why the pic isn't showing up, though. At any rate, there are pics on CL. It's sweet!
