Thanks, it came out nice. As far as Ritchey's go, this one is pretty rare and won't see much beyond the neighborhood loop on occasion. I understand the concept and frustrations people get when bikes are not ridden, don't personally feel that myself, I have other ones for getting dirty.

That is absolutely spectacular. What racks are those? Are those Schwalbe Fat Frank tires?

The rider that I keep in my parents' garage in the USA is a Ross MTB from the same time-frame, with bullmoose bars, and I'm looking to chose some tires to replace the old-and-rotten knobbies that are on it. I'll probably have them shipped before I go there this summer/fall. For some reason, I remember the 1.95" tires looking to be quite tight in terms of frame clearance, but this picture gives me some hope that I might squeeze the Fat Franks...

I may just go with some Vittoria Voyager Hyper in the 26x1.75" size, knowing they'll do well for me and fit for sure. With a wire bead, they can also be had for about USD 23 per tire, which isn't crazy for a bike I might ride for one week per year.

Bought this 1996 F1000 on a whim this morning. Partly because it was cheap and partly because I always wanted a Cannondale a long time ago. I fear the innards of the (replacement" Fatty D Super are shot so maybe the deal wasn't as good as I thought.

Yep, they are full chrome. Not worth stripping the paint off of, but it's chrome. I almost got a stripped one a while back, but I have been getting lucky finding chrome mountain bikes the last couple of years. I think this makes three?,,,,BD

86 I think, Mongoose ATB. Thanks wrk101 for shipping the frame to me. I am doing it up old school style. I have the Pro Class rims, but I am going to pass them off to someone who can do more with them. I am pretty good at truing, but one of them is giving me fits. For the time being I have some Specialized Saturae's with equally old school Specialized tires.

My wife loves that Stumpjumper. We just did a full recabling and lube. Runs like a champ for her.

Those are Blackburn Mt. Racks and Fat Franks.

FWIW A friend just gifted me his 1984 Stumpjumper that has been sitting in his cabin for the last 16 years.

Can't wait to get my mitts on it.

I have the lower end Schwinn S.[nine.5].4 which has the same frame as the Homegrown but made in Taiwan. I've used it in a number of configuarations both flat and drop bar. What a sweet frame! This is one of my bikes that gets ridden the most.

for now i'll have to settle for the Ritchey bar and stem that's on there the front wheel is a Spinergy Spox wheel i got off Craigslist for $25! it's pretty nuts

Wild. Does it have regular nipples at the rim or do you do all the tension at the hub. I always found those shimano wheels with the nipples on the hub a pain but then this one looks a lot easier to work on.

The ritchey controls are nothing to shake a wrench at for sure. Control Tech came on a lot of treks at that time I think and I think of it as sort of the "Syncros" of the USA.

you do all the tensioning at the hub.. you actually need proprietary tools to do it (though you could probably get away with using pliers).. i got the wheel for $25 and the tools off ebay for another $16 haha. It was pretty easy to true up, it's light and it looks crazy so i'm happy with it. I'd like a matching rear but on ebay they are expensive. One interesting thing is the spokes are not rigid.. they are flexible and made out of something other than regular steel, not sure if it's carbon or what

GT Talera.... bought it because it was a large frame. Added new tires, pedals, pads and grips.

1987 Mongoose Alta that I just grabbed off craigslist. Luckily, it fits me just right. Photos are "as-found" condition. This bike is full of possibilities...a bevy of rack and fender mounts! I am undecided as to how to do 'er up. Either restore to working original condition to use as a commuter, or tear off the derailleurs and convert to single speed (the horizontal dropouts and nutted rear hub would make this quite easy). Any thoughts?
