raised my seat post by a 1/4" ...what should i watch out for?

saddle position is not something you JUST change...it's very specific and should be dialed in and left alone once correct.

i did a 20 mile night ride last night.
no pain on the back of my knee.
i don't feel my hips rocking side to side either.
i should have done this earlier.

Thanks for the question because I've been experiencing pain in the back of my left knee for the past few rides. I had been messing around with my saddle height too (although it ended up being back exactly where they set it at the LBS 5 months ago!). So I'm going to lower it a bit to see if the pain goes away.

It's good to experiment, this is how we learn. You've already received good advice, watch for rocking. But make sure you pay attention after a hard effort too, things change.

I heard if you raise the saddle 1 mm every week it will make your legs longer.
