I found a Guerciotti in a dumpster (no joke) the other day, with Columbus TSX tubing.
I had never heard of this tubing before.
I searched and searched, discovering information on Columbus Aelle, Cromor, SL, SLX, PRX,
MAX/MINIMAX, EL/OS, etc., but I haven't found any detailed descriptions of the TSX tubing.

Whoa! As highly regarded as Columbus SLX is (at least by me, I have an SLX Bianchi), Columbus TSX steel is a step above.

OK, so after more research, I can answer my own question:
Columbus TSX is "superbutted" CrMo with continuous helical reinforcements.
It was an improvement on the SLX tubing, but was quickly replaced by the
Columbus PRX ribbed tubing.
I assume I couldn't find much info because it was a short-lived tubing line,
sort of an interim stage between SLX and PRX.
I'm still trying to find the date range that this tubing was in production,
so I can pin down the vintage of my Guerciotti.

It cleaned up nicely, all the rust spots were merely surface imperfections at paint-chip zones.I have no idea why it was tossed. The frame is in great shape, and it was full DA8.
Obviously owned by somebody with more money than sense.
She's now in good hands.

TSX and PRX were the last developments of Cyclex steel, PRX being the most sophisticated. Now I have never seen a frame built with PRX tubing, but I have seen a fair number of TSX ones. I would say TSX is far more popular than PRX.
I would date a TSX frame to '91 or '92.

Ik heb mijn custom gespoten Concorde Squadra met Columbus TSX in 1990 laten maken. Het jaar ervoor reed de PDM ploeg ermee.
Her was destijds niet de meest innovatieve buis van Columbus: dat was de Max. Die was niet rond, maar gedraaid, zoals de huidige buizen van carbon.

I own 2 bikes with TSX tubing, its a newer improved version and of SLX. Feels the same to me though.

I was going to quote the post about PRX tubing but I didn't realize it was 16 years old.
As far as I know that was a thicker gauge of tubing they made for rough conditions, IIRC "PRX = Paris-Roubaix". I've seen a few Concordes specced with it.

I may as well contribute to the zombie thread. I own both a PRX and a TSX Guerciotti. I also have a Maza in TSX. Do I get the semi-rare tubing prize?
