Maybe he heard (on BF?) everyone saying "rim brakes are disk brakes". People always forget to add "...in a way... not literally"

Nice OLD ladies' Sports, neat chaincase, looks like a 23" frame, but not even those Wald baskets make it worth $800.

Talk about a quick turnaround

I was excited to score some free brakes with this one.

But it was taken in minutes. And then just about an hour later, this post popped up:

Alas, I'm too slow.

This is not a dig at Steve Bauer, great athlete and he's done an awful lot. This is a dig at the seller in this ad.
Notice the bike is a "Steve", no it's not "like new" and $1,199 Canadian is about $960 USD to put this in perspective.

ps. He's also got a Steve Bauer Whirlwind listed for $1000 Canadian....

The nerve- “all tuned” lol. Apparently this seller works quick!

I like that- it doesn’t mean HE did the tune-up; just that it happens to be in a tuned state. So he’s not being dishonest- he just lucked into it!

I'm guessing you've seen the thread on this bike. The issues and evaluation were given and yet they go fishing without a hook. Not sure why you would post that last response unless they have other motives for posting on CL and here.

I thought at first that there were bricks for sale and kept scrolling to see the bike...nice job at cropping.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Sun...gAAOSwwPhWlGbH - not a lot of money, but it's still very high for a 'lever changer' that looks for all the world like a broken FD. The seller has good reviews, though the buyer of this item may ruin the 100% record.

I like those tires! (although it looks like they just rattle-canned the tire (and some of the rim!))

This is near me and in my size so I sent a message on it.... they absolutely will not budge from $1000. Sad because I'd be all over it if the price were actually fair (thinking 5-700 depending on condition of the remaining original components and the plating).

Sadly, not every chrome Paramount is a thousand-dollar chrome Paramount. Keep after them because they're likely to be advertising it for a while at that price.
