I KNOW RIGHT I need to get my Fuji stock back up, and I've never met a bike I didn't like. There's been a lot of good prices on tall frames lately. I'd like to have an off-road wide tire bike and this older Raleigh MTB you posted in a tall frame in Greensboro is trying to get my attention
https://www.bikeforums.net/21328301-post54166.html
...but I have projects waiting for me to get to, and I keep wanting to add more. Oldest daughter Aaryn took a liking to the Club Fuji and it's now in Seattle. I've finally started working on the rust bucket "worst-buy-ever" I got back in '14. A '76 S10-S in my favorite color green I want to convert to a single speed. All the chrome was rusted and aluminum oxidized so badly I'm going with a beausage, well worn "messenger" kind of look in black & green. Not done yet, but progress so far.

Tall aluminum road bikes

It seems that carbon frames at 66 cm or larger are all but nonexistent. I've found a couple of nice 66 cm AL bikes. (99 Allez, and a Cannondale Caad5).
What are some other model names to search for? Searching for 66cm seldom works, but if I search for a model name I often find one or two tall ones.

The only 66cm carbon frames I know of are made by Calfee. I have no idea if they are any good but here is an example that was on pinkbike last year. 66cm Calfee

Ad says 24 inch but this looks over 63cm to my untrained eye. Braze-ons still present and really needs a cleaning

Basically a Raleigh frame and forks set, looks like a Technium (???) with a few parts, but for $50???

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1924233859372/

Raleigh vintage bike
$50
Listed 4 hours ago in Louisville, KY
Per ad "It’s been converted to a single speed. Kind of set up as a cruiser with the high bars and big seat. Real comfy. 24 inch frame. Not for short riders"

Trek Domane's largest frame has a 656mm stack height.
Parlee Z Zero's largest frame has a 677mm stack height.

I'm sure there are others, but I dont seek out carbon frame so I'm not up to date.

I just realized you are asking about c&v carbon. That in 66mm?...oof. there is a reason why carbon frame production has changed in that last 30 years.

I actually looked at a Trek Domane last week at the Albuquerque dealership. It seemed to be way too small, but I did not actually get on the bike.

I am more of a vintage bike person anyway, so I assumed that ten or more year old aluminum bike like the one above might be a nice concession to modernity. My only issue is that I have no idea what models to search for. Posters often fail to list the frame size, and a search for 26" frames will return hundreds of hits for bikes with 26" wheels and small frames. A search for a specific model name seems a better approach. The bike above is an Allez in Marion, IA in case anyone is interested, I don't know the year or anything else about it.

Two mid-1960s Cinelli Special Corsas. The silver on is the same bike as in post #143 , repainted. The blue one is recently acquired. Both have identical geometry: 64 x 61.5, ctc; 73* head angle, 72.5* seat tube angle; about a 108cm wheelbase. Both made of Columbus SP, which works just fine for this 6'3" 250 lb. clydesdale. Fantastic riding bikes, best I've ever had.

These are not the biggest Cinellis I have seen. That honor goes to one I saw at the first Eroica CA event - 70cm ctc. The owner let me stand over it. I could get both feet flat on the ground, but only with the top tube and my naughty bits being in uncomfortably close contact.

Maybe I should start a new thread "Bigger and Taller, Bikes 67cm and Up"...

Anyhow, here's the most recent bike for me. It's an 1984 or 85 68cm Specialized Expedition. The largest frame from Specialized in those years.

Wheel size?

What size wheels are they? With two sons 6 -4 and 6-5 I always struggled to get road bikes that fitted. In Europe it is nigh impossible. Wouldn't a 28 inch wheel be a minimum. A Dutch 30 " even more so.
Very nice bike I must say.

The biggest common wheel size in production is the so-called 28-inch which came on the Raleigh Tourist. I don't think this is found on European or American markets any longer. It's not much bigger than 700c so there's no much point. It's still made in Asia, for compatibility, I guess.

You should know also that on the European continent, they sometimes label 700c as 28 inches. Wheel sizing is a crazy business.

So very tall people have to deal with 700c. When I think of how many adults do just fine on adult bikes with 20" I suspect this is fine.

The 1934 Raleigh Roaster had 28 inch. A copy was made in China before WW2 and relabelled the Flying Pigeon. They have made 500 million of them since and they all seem to be doing fine as well.

Not quite vintage yet, more a keeper of the flame. I would have preferred a 67cm but this 65cm Rivendell A.Homer Hilsen has become my favorite bike to grab for quick 10 miles or so rides.

Having trouble believing Schwinn made a 27 inch - 68.5cm frame but even still this be a tall boy

27” 68.5cm Schwinn Sports Tourer - $100

Very tall not sure of age 27”or 68.5cm. It does need some work. The frame is in great condition. The wheels are not in good condition. Derailleurs, cranks, seat post, stem and bars are good. The generator light does work. Needs tires and cables.
$100 or best offer

Schwinn made a ton of 27"/68.5cm framed bikes throughout the '80s. Numerous models as well. Voyageur, World, World Sport, Le Tour, Traveller, etc. All in their catalogs. These frames had ~62cm top tubes generally, which bums me out as I can just straddle the frames, but am otherwise doing a Superman pose on them. The Japanese as well as Raleigh kept their top tubes appreciably shorter on the whole.

This is only a mere 25.5" frame, but I'm only 6'3" so I only barely fit in here.
