Does the site software allow for a "no starting threads" type of ban?

You haven't lived til you've gone to a steelyard. You better have exactly what you want to order ready, or it's no soup for you. I knew that, and I also knew they cut the tubing to length for a slight up-charge that's well worth it. 20 footers just don't fit in the Ranger bed, no matter how I hold my tongue.

It absolutely is. They have the evil empire mentality and want to be THE number one bike brand, period. You all recall the whole Volagi debacle, and their general penchant for legal action. The shop I worked at (and now build bikes for occasionally) was a dealer, but had a falling out after they went head to head with Scott bicycles back in the day.
Also, you might remember the big to do about Giro shoes being banished from Specilaized dealers. They framed it as a "We're looking out for our local dealers" thing, and drew attention to the fact that Bell/Giro sold stuff at WalMart, etc. and carrying those brands would devalue your shop, etc. They basically said, "If you carry Giro shoes, you will not be allowed to sell Specialized Shoes." Well, it turns out one of the head guys on the new Giro shoe launch was a former Specialized apparel/footwear designer. So you can guess their true intentions.

So you have, like, three friends that are chicken sandwiches? Really?
Just curious.
