Continuous noises on pedaling

Hi,

After I washed my bike I am getting crank noises on pedaling! Not sure what it could be and how to fix by myself in the days of the Lock Down

Please check the attached video for the noise.

thanks

You very likely forced some grit into the cassette. It's hard to diagnose without being there.

Tracking down noises can be frustrating. I wold suggest you remove the chain and then spin the crank. If the noise stops, then the crank is not at fault. If the noise continues, remove the crank and clean everything. If the noise stops, then the problem is elsewhere. If elsewhere, try to isolate the different components to pinpoint the problem. Clean the chain as long as it is off the bike.

It may be a situation where it is almost changing gears, but not quite. Try adjusting the gears.

If you used detergent on your chain you may have water or a water/detergent/oil emulsion in its tiny crevices which the oil may not be ble to displace..

That's what it sounded like to me, but you normally see the RD jumping a bit when it does that.
