Monostays
I've always loved the look of a bike built with a monostay.
Some great frame builders have made them but for whatever reason they don't seem to be very popular as I don't see them very often (if ever) on my rides.
A monostay frame made of steel from "back in the day" before carbon fiber came along is really what I'm thinking about.
Back then with the different levels/grades of steel tubing and different monostay designs I can only imagine that there could be performance differences, or ride characteristics associated with the monostay as opposed to two seatstays.
Who here owns one and has experience with them?
I would love to see pictures of your monostay bike.

Had a Giant Cadex with monostay and a Schwinn MTB with monostay. There is no performance difference between mono and traditional stays. They look different and that is it. The best monostay treatment I have seen is the old Dekerf frames. Don't know if they are still in production, but how they did them was simply artful.

Yeah, I always thought they were Cool. They seemed so sleek and aero.
My '88 Carbon Ironman has one....but It doesn't seem to make a difference when I'm riding it.
We need pics of monostays.

I have never been a fan of the mono stay myself but if I had to buy one, Rob English makes the ultimate. His philosophy is that the you don't need to overbuild the rear triangle. Check out his bikes on his website.
