Icon Air Rail OS Carbon on 2001 Lemond Zurich question

I ride a 2001 Lemond Zurich. It came with an Icon Air Rail OS Carbon fork. A road bike tech at my local bike shop recently told me that I should replace that fork. He said something about age and issues with that fork. He didn't try to sell me on anything but recommended I look up a Columbus Minimal fork. The only difference really in the forks that I can find is the rake on the Icon is 47mm and the Minimal is 45mm.
The Icon has a few chips in the paint but visually it looks sound.
Is it time to replace this fork?
Anyone with experience with the Columbus Minimal?

Any suggestions or input is appreciated,
Thanks!
Caleb

Bikes: too many sparkly Italians, some sweet Americans and a couple interesting Japanese

I have a lovely '98 Zurich but can't help with Columbus Minimal. Inspection is required as a fork failure is a serious incident but carbon has an amazing long fatigue life when compared to metals. Scratches, suspicious marks, certainly a cracking of any kind, or the fork involved in a crash should be carefully considered. Life is too short to worry about these things so replace it if you are concerned, especially if you are the kind of guy that flies down a decline at very high speeds.
