Eddy Merckx quote attribution
Hi,
I remember reading somewhere that Eddy Merckx once said in an interview, when questioned about his dominance in cycling, something to the effect that, "There are no physical laws that govern the will." I've tried searching the googles for similar phrases and going through the books in my collection, but I've never been able to refind or substantiate the quote. Has anybody out there in the hive mind that is BF attribute the quote to Eddy?
Thanks in advance!!

This sort of thing happens a lot with sports quotes. A quote pops into someone's mind, it floats around in the ether for a while, someone else decides it fits the style of a particular athlete, and before you know it, they said it. The "don't buy upgrades, ride up grades" line is another that was unlikely to have been actually said by Merckx.
Yogi Berra wrote a whole book about quotes that were mis-attributed to him, not that he minded.
