Rear disc rotor - 140mm to 160mm?

Guys,

My bike has Shimano Ultegra Hydralic disc brakes. Repeated descents have, I believe, warped the rear rotor a bit which is resulting in an rhythmic pulsing sound emanating when medium level braking is applied. I'd like to swap the old rotor out for a new one and would like to go a 160mm rotor as well to help heat dissipation. Is this the adapter I need to accomplish this?

If not does Shimano make one for a flush mounted rear hydraulic caliper?

Thanks!

Yes if you have a flat mount caliper and flat mount frame.

My bike has Shimano Ultegra Hydralic disc brakes.
The first model Ultegra disc brakes were post mount calipers, the current Ultegra disc brakes are flat mount calipers.

Thanks Cobba.

I'm pretty sure that the 2017 Giant TCR rear brake is a flat mount. It has second generation Di2 Ultegra R6870 components...

I'd confirm that the rear can fit 160mm first

You might also need proportionately longer bolts.

Look like the bolts you'd need come with the adapter.

Installation instructions: https://si.shimano.com/#/en/SI/8NU0A

Looks like it shouldn't be a problem fitting a 160mm rotor, some of the 2017 TCR's came stock with a 160mm rear rotor and that adapter.

The bolts to attach the caliper to the adapter come with the adapter but the frame bolts do not.

The bolts currently on the bike may be usable but they might not. Most likely is needing a longer rear bolt.

Thanks all. I've ordered the parts and will post an update with how it went once I've made the attempt to swap.

Update - the parts all went together without issue. No need for longer or shorter thru bolts to mount the spacer to the rear chain stay. Also cleaned and lubricated the pistons as well as changed out pads on the front and rotated the pads from the front to the rear.

Never thought about rotating brake pads. For the trouble use new pads.

The rears were significantly worn but the fronts had about 3/4th of the pad left when compared to new pads. Felt, in this case, that it was worth saving the $25 for a set to rotate them to the rear as there was nothing really wrong with them. Have a spare set in their packaging for next time as well
