Those are cone wrenches most commonly used to adjust the cones and nuts on wheel axles. The bigger wrenches are for adjusting headsets.

Thats a nice haul! That Ritchey post is nice. Could it be titanium?

I was wondering more about the brand/era of the cone wrenches. I thought somebody
might recognize them. Also, the headset wrench is 32mm and 24mm, which I thought was an odd combo. They are Elite brand, made in Italy.

Thanks!

Thanks! I think it’s a plain, old aluminum Kalloy. Oval insides, though, which is cool.

Those are Park cone wrenches. The blue handle is the give away. I don't remember the sequence in which different models were made. The Park cone wrenches I got to equip our bicycle frame shop in Kiev in 2000 were a dark hardened steel and were not chrome plated.

I have a few cone wrenches of that same general pattern. Some say "Park" and some say "Schwinn."

I think I got the Schwinn ones around 1968 or so. Maybe 10 or so years later I needed to do some more bike work and other sizes, so I found some by Park. I used some members of the set just a few weeks ago - just as good in my hands as they were 40 years ago!

Yeah, Park, from the '90s. The white lettering wears off and the blue color shifts a bit greenish over time.

Double-ended dark colored spanner is for Shimano pedals.

Short little spanner next to the can of scratch coat is for chainring nuts. Handy to have when the bolt and nut turn at the same time.

Yeah, these are mighty green. Who knows, maybe the guy plasti-dipped them?

^^^^^^ Looking closer, that probably is Plasti-Dip. A couple of my old Parks are almost that green, but the dip is much smoother, like the new one pictured above. That rough surface makes me think it's a DIY dip.

The "15 MM USA" does match the old Park cone wrenches.

Nice find, overall, nothing there that's not useful.

Still, nobody seems to know what the 32/24 combo wrenches are for.

Nice find, very fair price. I think my first tube of Phil's grease from the late '70s or early '80s cost less than $2. And it was still good when I re-found it around 2004. Stuff lasts for decades, at least in the tube.

I don’t think a lot of those tools are very old. Most are likely from the 90s or newer

Agreed. Most of the Park stuff, with the exception of the cone wrenches, matches the tools in the Park pro tool bundle I bought when I worked in a shop in 2003. The old tube of grease, and the Atom freewheel and removal tool go back a little further. Late 70’s? Looked to me like the person enjoyed a long bicycle life.

Stem missing the binder bolt, a bunch of 80’s stuff that had been rained on. I might go back today and see what’s left. It’ll be half price.
