Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In local rail bridge news, the BNSF bridge over Tempe Town Lake is back in action!
You should probably tell someone at the RR about that.

So instead of blaming Rapha, we should be blaming the French language? Sounds about right to me.

Should sail back over and give them the what-for. Do it in 46 years for poetic purposes.

Nothing. Anything that originated from mouse genes has to be laboriously re-engineered to humanize it so you don't have an immune response. A lot of the monoclonal antibody drugs originated as mouse antibodies. We clone out the genes and then take the sticky bits that bind the target, and build them into a human antibody gene framework.

EDIT: Remicade is one of those mAb products that isn't human or humanized. I'm surprised there are so many chimerics on the market, especially for chronic diseases. You'd think HAMA would be a problem (Human Anti Mouse Antibodies)

During my brief flirtation with sailing 30 years ago, we called them "Foulies".

Yep. Again and again - "We're seeing a lot of new cases, but hospitalizations aren't rising. Maybe the virus has mutated to a less virulent form?"

2 weeks later: "Hospitalizations are really high, but deaths haven't risen. Perhaps the virus isn't as fatal as it was?"

2 weeks later still: "Deaths are rising rapidly. So, no. The virus is still just as bad."

That's cold. One of Jon Bon Jovi's brothers was a customer where I used to work and he had a 1969 Camaro Indy 500 pace car without the graphics. The thing was perfect but he would find some flaw and bring it in, cost no object and time no issue. The perfect customer and a nice guy. He found a scratch in one of the rear quarter windows so he said replace all the windows and weatherstripping. I don't know if he ever drove it anywhere.
