My 1993 Zipp2001 with over 100,000 miles turned into a carbon belt drive single speed several years ago. Love looking at her but even love riding her more.

Please don't take this as an insult, I do not intend that, but why would you convert to a single speed?

But especially with those three spoke wheels, it's pretty far-out looking.

Don't worry I don't care what people think of my bikes. I build them for me and no one else, and I wanted a single speed in my bike stable. So why not build one of the baddest single speed bikes on the planet rolling out on a 53/14.

Good enough for me. I'm still a believer in "because I want to" being all the justification you need. Still looks pretty far out.

My 1x10 Kestrel KM40 Airfoil from 1999 is another bike I love looking at and riding. The fun part is you can look at it from different angles and it's a different color.

I'm not usually much of a fan of older bike designs, but this one is hot. Love everything about it. 1

And this one is just wild. Love it too. The single speed belt drive conversion just makes it that much more unique.

Thanks. Not sure if he’s building many these days. So hard for him to get parts being a small bike business. The LBS end of things shut down a long time ago. I believe he is machining things for other businesses. In addition to a CNC mill, he has a lot of machines, like lathes. The workshop is in what used to be his parents’ carpet cleaning business.

It’s really interesting to see a place like that. I have also gotten a tour of Bilenky Bike Works.

Thanks, I look at it a lot as well. Riding it I do less partially because it is so pretty and partially because I set it up poorly. I set it up to look really good and clean but not for being a bit more upright and comfortable but hey Dura Ace 7400 was a race group and the bike was for an actual race team so I cannot complain at all I knew what I was getting. Still it is a fun bike.

I generally am not a fan of mat black or mat coloring in general, but... this bike has grown on me. I recently changed out the bars for some Ritchey Carbon Steem 2

What are you using for the crank bolts and dust caps?

Specialties T.A. Auto Extractors

The bike did have the original D.A. bolt covers at one point in the past but unfortunately I pulled the bike apart and put the parts away at the shop and during a move or potentially earlier they were pilfered and nobody fessed up to it and I didn't bother pursuing it further because in the end I left the stuff at the shop when I should have just brought it home but my plan wasn't for a completely seized bottom bracket and then getting several incorrect bottom brackets and then giving up on the project because this frame came along.

I am well over it those T.A. bolts are way better no extra tools needed and because I had some initial set up issues I had to remove those damn cranks a bunch to get the PW B.B. adjusted properly. and working with the front derailleur.

I think that's what happened to Wraith Frabications a few years ago
