Picriss hubs?
Has anyone ever come across these? Or even the brand? Recognize the shape of the logo, perhaps? From the 1960's is my best guess, date-wise.

one thing we might wish to keep in mind as we explore is that it could be the name of a cycle marque rather than that of a hub manufacturer

"stumped" - in the motor-bike world they have an acronym - NAIT, which stands for "not appearing in Tragatsch", Tragatsch being the encyclopedia of... by Erwin T.

Another thing worth noting is that the logo is upside down. Either that or it is one of those rare left hand drive hubs.

another hub with an irregular barrel marking ran across is this New Star from the firm of Etablissements Pelissier et Courson which came OEM on a Riva-Sport machine manufactured for Sears & Roebuck Company, 1953-54
whoever was tossing typeface into the die-holder for this stamp was apparently unable to locate a capital letter N and so emplyed an upside-down letter U
