TA Randonneur bottle re-pop by Laken USA

I really dig TA accessories, and I'm a big fan of the Randonneur bottle and cage (seen here on my Sauvage-Lejeune campeur)

HOWEVER . . . those bottles are hard to find, which=very expensive when you do!

So I was pleased to discover that the Spanish bottle maker, Laken, made a bottle they call "Cuadrada" with the same form factor. The previous models had a flip-cap "sport top" - and they've been unavailable here in the USA for awhile now.

A friend recently tipped me off that Laken USA just launched a new Cuadrada, this time with the Grolsch-type bail top - just like the original TA! How neat. Only one left in the web store as I type this, but maybe a big back order would send a demand signal to HQ. Go to lakenusa, and look in the "canteen" section.

Cheers!
Alex

That looks pretty cool. How do I get one of those square cages?

The cages seem to be a little easier to find, though they don't show up on eBay very often. It's something to keep your eye out for at a bike swap, co-op, etc. They do turn up. It's those darn bleu bottles that are SO elusive!

Thanks RB. Ya know, I recently saw a pic of an original gloss black bottle. Until then, I thought they only came in bleu. These new Laken bottles are aluminum, but I think the neck is plastic. The previous generation Cuadrada with the sports top was all aluminum, and could be powder coated, I suppose.
