Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not strictly a road bike since it's a singlespeed, but when it's stock, I think the Boston edition Langster looks really damned good -- white and polished aluminum on black:

Had to replace my 2010 TCR Advanced 1 frame after a crash last weekend

Here is my new frame with old components:

The last frame had red frame accents so my rims and hubs are a bit off, but oh well!

How long do you ride for...

19.5mph average in a 13mph headwind is pretty good.

Looks awesome, no idea re: year or model. I think the advice of our learned friend is sound, but I'd say you got lucky in this instance. Enjoy the ride.

New-ish bar tape.

Note: The bike isn't actually a Kuota, rather one of the cheap frames bought of eBay with some decals (also bought of eBay) stuck on it.

some weights are estimated

Seriously? Because of your bike, I recently have thought that Kuota is an Ebay brand. I know you said that your carbon bike is ebay, and I saw the name.. and put one and two together.

It's not much different, maybe a bit shinier. That picture is without flash. With flash you can see the 12k weave of the carbon which I think is ugly. In the sun, you can see the weave up close, but any further than a meter or two, you probably wouldn't notice the weave pattern.

I've put 600 miles on it and have had no problems so far. The clear coat finish is still holding up perfectly fine. The frame hasn't broken despite hitting some deep potholes, bunny hopping, and doing a few wheelies. It's also been knocked over pretty hard when someone "slammed open" the door. I also had a bad chain drop yesterday, but the bike is fine. Just a few minor scratches on the clear coat and not the carbon.

It may be comfortable, but you should try and put it at the correct height. You'll be surprised how much easier it is to bike.

And your knees will thank you later (I came from 15 years of BMX riding).

Your knees don't hurt because your rides aren't that long yet. I started out doing 10 milers and had no issues even wearing jeans on my rides; once you start creeping up on that one hour mark, lots of things will change. I (along with most of this forum) would recommend checking out a bike fit; well worth the money.

My guess is you're just sitting on it wrong, because of the seat being too low.

Kupkake, we're telling you to raise the seat not because we like to tell people to do things (although that's part of it ), but because we don't want you to hurt yourself due to a bad fit. Many of us had our seats too low back when we were brand-new, so we're speaking from experience.

Of course, you could have odd proportions and have a short inseam-long torso for your height, too. I've got a friend whose legs look shorter than her torso; she rides custom frames whenever she can.
