That's what I did to mount bikes in my VW bus. I just pulled the axles out of a few dead old hubs, used some scrap angle iron cutoff to make 90° brackets, drilled them, and used two outboard cone nuts to hold the axle in place.

Tour of California is in town. Fueled up next to one of the Team Sky Jaguars this AM. Sharp car with a whole lot of rack space for 6 bikes or so up top.

If your going for the shooting brake, you might as well go all in:

lol. wayyyyyyy too fancy for me. a v60 is as fancy as i'd be willing to go. A RWD wagon is nice, but i do live in an area where it snows somewhat.

speaking of tour of calif, something I think is pretty cool about bike racing is that there are 5 people on the start list that I've been in races against and have a teammate that rolled in a winning break with one of them last august. I think it's pretty neat that as a 40 something never was I was in the same competition as those at the top level of the sport.

It will work just fine on carbon. Maybe a bit coarser would be good.

ah. no can do. home at whatever time doesn't matter Had CRCA had a masters race to start I'd have planned my weekend around it. The issue is that given the initial plan we made dinner reservations at a steakhouse in NY for my son's birthday on Saturday night. Home too late, eating the wrong food for a race lower on my list of priorities than my kid's birthday.

was it eventservices who made a video of domestic pros struggling to get back on the peloton after taking a pee brake during the toc?

if that wasn't a clear demonstration of the difference between us and euro, i don't know what is.

Or the time one domestic team rider flatted, 2 went back to help him, and I don't know if any of them made it back to the field.

This was during the neutralized parade laps at the start of a Philly.
