Lance Armstrong Autographed Trek US Postal Service bike
I live in Austin and my friend won this bike several yrs ago in a golf tournament. It appears to of never been ridden. I don't really have any documentation on the authenticity of the signature. Anyone know what the value of this bike is and if there is a way to get the signature authenticated? Photos attached.

Looks like a nice bike, but I'd say it is most valuable as something to ride, not a collector's item. The fact that it's signed by Lance (if it really is) might add a couple hundred bucks to the value for someone, but mostly it's just a used bike in great shape. I'd say it's at least 6 years old since US postal hasn't been a sponsor for quite a while. If it were an actual team bike or something lance had ridden in an event (which it is not), then it would have more value as a collector's item.

Wrong saddle.
It's probably a replica, given the lower end components and the toe clip pedals/granny gear, but that doesn't mean the signature is fake necessarily.

Reflectors!?!?!? Can't believe you guys missed that. The 41 is slipping.
This, FTW!
To the OP: The sig compares well to published versions of Lance's sig:
Wait until he wins the tour, then put it on fleabay with a $10K Reserve. You can boost the selling price by telling people that the proceeds will go to cancer research. Hell, that strategy works for the charities, right?

+1 and +1 to the replica comment
If you want $$$ for it, wait until a high in Lance's career (a TDF win, or when he retires) then set it up for auction with a high price. Its not "the" bike Lance rode (wrong saddle, components, etc) but its a pretty nice collector's item for someone who wants to see Lance's skill with a sharpie.
Try 5,000 usd? I don't believe its worth that much, but I can't really say that someone wouldn't pay higher than that. There are some very *ehm* sheltered people *ehm* with too much money. Heck, someone may fork out 10k for it (doubtful though).
Personally I think pro equipment is cool and all, but it doesn't serve any real purpose to me. Imo going on a training ride w/Lance would be priceless (not that I could keep up), but owning an autographed bike would just be another bike. That may explain my answers.
Edit: I have nothing against charities/Livestrong. Thought I should clarify that.

I guess I should clarify that I have nothing against Livestrong, nor do I have any evidence of skimming from any cancer charities. Promoting a healthy lifestyle is an excellent motive. I do, however, seem to notice that many charities have a self-sustainment motive above that of their stated goal. The "self-licking-ice-cream-cone", as it were.
