Grandis Italian Beauty!

Hi, I picked up a beautiful Grandis Road Warrior off of CL for a few hundred dollars, came with Campy Record C as pictured. So I figured the parts alone would be worth more then what I paid. I never heard of the brand and need help in determining the quality of the builder and value. It's a 51cm, my size with the rear axle 126mm for a six or seven speed freewheel. The chrome is in superb condition no rust or pits and the paint is excellent, a few scratches and paint chips, no dents or dings. I'm going to build up the Grandis with Record C components. The photos show the equipment that came with the Grandis Road bike.

Relatively small builder, worked on an USA export presence starting in about 1975, yours of course is later. Not shown but they for a log time utilized a curved tube rear brake bridge.
As they are less known, the bikes sell for a discount compared to the big name Italian brands.
Fortunate are the owners.
I bought one a number of years ago - full Campagnolo "nuovo record" for under $800.

Something seems off regarding decal size/placement. I'm thinking this is a repaint, which of course hurts value a little. But it sure looks nice

Grandis was a lesser know brand but highly regarded by knowledgeable cyclists. When I was purchasing by first high end bicycle, Grandis was on my short list. This one is no older than 1982 based on the Portacatena dropout and front derailleur hanger. Fork crown style suggest closer to mid-1980s. Chromed chainstays suggest Columbus SL but you should confirm via the post size and a Columbus steerer tube. I agree that it appears to be a repaint. This, in conjunction with the small size and low recognition factor, hurts value. While it should be worth more, I think the offers will top out around $125-$150.

I was thinking that but as it is a small frame... sometimes things just get squished. Maybe added set tube bands? The graphics package is not a clone of what I have seen before.
