New Italian Eye Candy

Picked this gem up last week. It's so pretty, I hate to ride her, but, I took her out on a little eighty miler and she rides as good as any I have.

Ok, now I'm jealous.

Hang on tight in the turns, as you'll likely give up before the SP will.

My Super Prestige is an excellent machine as well, but the paint on yours is clearly cooler.

Congrats.

Cool.

A little 80-miler. I can't decide whether to hate you or bow down.

Being a bit sarcastic. I actually bonked big time on the last 10 miles. The only thing that saved me was a coke slurpy. That got me home. But I will say the bike rode fantastic!!!

You know, you wake-up in the morning, the sun is shining, it's about 75 degrees outside, breakfast on the balcony, open-up Bicycle Forums, look down the list of threads, open-up this thread and….bam….A beautiful Italian bike to drool over.

It doesn't get any better than that…….

Thanks Joe for "completing me".

I had two and sold them both! I rode them for a while to get them out of my system. They were beautiful, and rode equaly beautiful. fortunately, one, the pink one, I sold to my neighbor and cycling buddy, so it's just across the hall from me. Yours is a beautiful bike! Congratulations! it is definitely a keeper!

Well done yet again. Every bike you post seems special.

I'll second that. You have a few I have had on my dream team now for quite some time.

I adore the lugwork and special attention to detail Tommassini's possess. I own a Tecno that comes nowhere near fitting me but someday, I'll have one that will.

Enjoy the ride!

I have the exact same bike but mine is purple and made from SPX (I assume yours is SLX). It is a 1983 frameset.

Wow, nice bike and especially with those old wheels.

So, does the valve extender get shared between the two wheels?

Looks like my size, just needs my pedals!

sexy, sexy bike. And the rest of the line up you posted... surely must be hard to cull that herd! I'm extremely enamoured with the era where steel and brifters briefly overlapped as of late.

I agree!! Im really starting to get into those late 80s early nineties bikes as well. Dont have as many of the downtube bikes as I used to.

Really? 1983? mmm.. I thought it was a bit later than that for sure. I was thinking late eighties or even early nineties

SLX/SPX was not widely available until 1984. There may have been a few Cinelli's made in late 1983 with SLX/SPX, but most would date from 1984 onwards. When I bought my first good bike in 1984, I had to wait in order to get SLX.

Yeah..I have heard from several frame makers that SLX was more of a gimmick than anything. It weighed more than SL.
