I think I agree with Kactus. Black tread, gum or skinwall sides. Pulleeeeze don't do the blue-tread thing.

BTW, did you paint the frame and stand to match???

Beautiful frame. I'd go all black tires, black saddle, black carbon pedals and black bar tape. Allow the gorgeous paint scheme be the center of attention.

+100,no blue tires. I'm ordering the continental Grand Prix classics. I really like the dark brown sidewalls. Nice ciocc by the way, your gonna love the ride.

I think skinwalls would show off the blue rims nicely and go with the crankset a bit more.

I've been thinking skin wall or black, It's getting a Brown B17 Saddle I've had laying around for a while now.

You can never go wrong with skinwalls on a C&V bike, IMO.... It always gives bikes that classic look.....
Blackwalls just look blahhh...... and (looks) cheap....
Colored tires = just not C&V.....
JMOs.....

Well that changes everything. If you're using a brown saddle then skinwall tires are the way to go.

However, if it were my frame, I'd use a black Gilles Berthoud Galibier saddle, Conti 4000S tires in Black (not cheap!) and Black Cinelli cork bar tape. High performance and classic looking components. I wouldn't worry about the C&V aspect, the provenance of the frameset guarantees its place in history. This bike is already getting upgraded to a modern drivetrain and its going to be a nice racing bike. For me, these selections should be performance driven, with aesthetics close behind.
