Identifying older TREK ca.2005
Did Trek paint 1500's to look like Madones? Were ther "limited edition" set ups?
I swapped out a bike of unclear provenance, (garage sale origin) and am having a bit or a wander identifying this TREK road bike
I think it is a 2005 1500 but it is not fitting in resources I can find.
Aluminum frame but painted like a 2007 carbon Madone 5.9
https://archive.trekbikes.com/images...bluesilver.jpg
5 sets of numbers on BB and trek guides thru trek-vintage are unclear
has a sn# on a sticker too (that sounds real secure)
Running gear is not like any of the catalogs
Ultegra crank 105 RD/FD 9 speed with 105 Flightdeck brifters
FSA Omega bars Canyon Creek headset and brakes
I have a email to trek but haven't heard back from them
Any help appreciated

Not seeing its value beyond the pleasant ride that it is. Lots of nice $200 bikes out there
Trek was touting a "JustLikeLance" look when that meant better things, and this isnt the standard 1500 paint, and I had just seen this paint on Madones, which this one ain't.
It is low mileage, and things do get replaced, but it would be odd for the pattern given, very similar to, but not exactly the listed variants.
more like a limited run variation, possibly sold just as a frame.
Vintage-trek is great but stops detailed logging about 2003. Good tip on the taiwan frame question.
I am becoming vintage myself, earlier than planned
