makes sense.
Hey, side note, did you put those grips made for 45 degree bars, the special version of Ergon ones? I still have some jones bars that will one day go on one of my bikes, and have thought of the ergon ones with the added angle to help with jones type bars. Totally personal I know, but wonder how they are for you.

GC series is, I think, meant for swept back bars, and it’s supposed to shift the angle of the grip closer to that of straight/flat bars. I prefer the grip angle of a swept back bar, so I was disappointed with the GC grips. I switched back to the GP grips.

thanks, whenever I ever do try these bars, I should probably then just ride with them fora while to see what angle I prefer, and go from there. I have some ergon regular gp grips, so could at least try those for a while and see if I yearn for a diff angle.
I do find a real diff in the ergon cork grips in any case when riding my winter bike with them, the shape and contour of the ergons are really nice.

Stopped at motel today in Priest. Lake, Idaho, and this was in front of our room.

Was just talking about this trail today with my buddy! Trying to convince him to go next year. What would you say is the minimum tire size to do this trail?

You are going north on the Hiawatha? Which direction after that?

The line goes E-W/W-E. I am headed east, which means uphill. 37c tires fully loaded. Larger would have been nicer going in that direction because the surface is not smooth, especially the western-most portion. Most people seemed to have MTB-size tires. Many bikes were rentals. I saw almost no one going east. The long tunnel had recently been resurfaced with some sort of slurry. There was water falling from the tunnel roof. Bike got very muddy. But once it dried it was pretty easy to brush off.

At East Portal I went down the dirt road towards I-90 and then took the NorPac to Lookout Pass.
