NCR/York County Heritage Trail Question

I'm planning a two day up and back ride on the Northern Central Railroad Trail (a/k/a Torrey Brown Trail)/York County Heritage Trail from Cockeysville, MD to York, PA and back. I'll camp overnight in York.

Question...Does anyone familiar with the Cockeysville, MD area have a suggestion regarding over night parking for one night?

Thank you for your help.

Look on a map at the area just west of the south end - Hunt Valley, MD. All sorts of hotels, shopping centers, post office, restaurants, etc. Should be plenty of places to stash a car for the night.

Camping in York: have you picked a spot? I'm only aware of the Rudy County park at the north end and I don't know if there's camping there. That's about 45 miles north of Hunt Valley.

You used to be able to call the Gunpowder Falls Park Ranger and tell them you wanted to park overnight at one of the trailheads - try calling 410-592-2897

I was planning on doing this years ago, decided the tiny lot in at the far southern end in Ashland was too secluded, was going to leave my car at the big lot of Paper Mill Road a mile or so north. I called, they said fine and said that lot is patrolled periodically. A friend ended up doing the start of the ride with me and acted as a shuttle, so never actually tested it out.

I've been looking at Indian Rock Campground if I can't find a free spot. Thank you for the other info.

I'll try that number. Thank you.

Possibly. I either started a thread or asked as part of another's thread. I simply wanted the most current information.
Have a great day.

Sorry for three separate reply posts. I just changed browsers to be able to use the multi quote function.
