Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wouldn't ride that, but I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to damage on carbon frames.

Thanks for all the the replys. It was new old stock. A 2012 model never been riden. Im in the middle of the case since the seller thinks its not his fault since it happened in shipping. Ebay will most likely make the final decision. I would buy at a bike shop but I got this cannondale super six 4 for $1675 including shipping. If I bought a similar model in the store it would cost me over 3k with tax. Even this hassle is worth the 1400 I would have saved.

I suspect this is not the ONLY reason you don't use eBay.

He is dead wrong and will lose the case. It it his responsibility to get the item to you in the condition described, not just to the shipper. Ebay/Paypal will side with you and have you return the bike for a refund.

I agree with everyone else I definitely would get a refund. If I really did happen during shipping, I wouldn't use this case as an example of why not use eBay though. I've sold several bikes on eBay and hope to sell several more. When I sell them though, I have it boxed up by my LBS and then take out insurance with the shipping company to cover the selling price of the bike or frame. That way if it's damaged during shipping the shipping company will have to cover the damages.

Someone asked earlier if the huge chip that came off was in the box? Did you look and see? I don't think it matter, ebay will find for you but you will have to ship back. I'm not up to speed on the latest ebay policies, so I don't know if you will have to pay return shipping or not. Oh, and be sure to neg him.

Post it on A&S and they will tell you to sue for triple damages and have the seller jailed

If he was smart he would've bought full coverage insurance for the bike - ALL $1675 of it. He'd be a dumbass not to.

Get on with the eBay case.
