Where can I get a replacement SunXCD crank bolt dustcap?
I lost one of mine sometime relatively recently and noticed it missing a couple days ago. I looked up their website, and the contact page only gives a way to reach J&B Importers, which is the North American distributor for SunXCD. Unfortunately, J&B has no way to get that particular part on its own. Anyone know where else I might be able to get one?

I know Merry Sales Co. sold their stuff for a while you might check with an MSC dealer and see or possibly just go with another crank bolt dust cap. Most of my square taper stuff now uses the T.A. Specialties Auto Extractor bolts which are quite excellent. I need to replace them on my touring bike because I really like them so much. I was having some issues on my Phil Wood frame and I had to pull the cranks quite a bit and it was nice to not have to use tools other than allen keys.

I’ve stopped using dust caps, using something like these instead:

The advice on the thread is strong. Ditch the dust caps and go to the Allen headed bolt with dust covers.
Related to that, most of the bicycle multi tools have an Allen wrench that fits those bolts. Very handy in a mechanical breakdown situation.

Like almost any obscure part I would start on eBay. If it were older I would stop at a couple of co ops and dig around. Just found a missing Shimano one step ring fro an old arabesque crankset I have at a co op.
and when visiting any co op take stuff with you to donate! Most of us have useful bike stuff laying around.

It isn't going to be easy. Small spare parts like this were rarely available from Japanese manufacturers BITD. Nowadays SunXCD is a very small numbers company targeted at a very small market. Your best option might have to be a generic replacement of some kind.
You could write Sun XCD in Japan. Best if you can find someone to translate into Japanese.
I've always been a throw the dustcaps in the trash first thing guy, but the SunXCD ones are rather attractive, and I can see why you would prefer to use them on this bike.

I had to look at the dust cap and realized that "Sun XCD" correlates with the new SR/Suntour company, not vintage Suntour XCD. I can't tell if your bike is an antique or if it is a modern replica.
There is a guy in Poland who makes really nice custom crank bolt covers with different logos of classic brands. I bought a set of the SunTour ones with the bright red triangle that are very cool. The flat ones like you have that take an allen wrench might be found on eBay but perhaps plain without the Sun XCD script.
