I am still home-shooling my grandkids so I find it difficult to log on here every day like I used to so I have been a little out of the loop. I do try to log in at least once a week to post my rides but Dang, its been tough month for a couple of you riders out there! So sorry to hear this. My sister, an avid rider who rides in Houston took a nasty fall in the beginning of April; broke her leg in a couple of places and even needed a knee replacement. Stay safe, even one second of carelessness can cost us terribly, its especially costlier and more dangerous for us older cyclists.

Thanks! I love the looks. I haven't bonded yet. I am going to try a short 8-miler tomorrow to see how it feels. Lots of new things to learn, between bar-ends and the different brake levers and a front derailleur...

I’ve got another cart path ride planned for Tuesday . This one will be an 18 mile loop .
Should I rest tomorrow or just take a short ride to keep the knees limbered up ?

No excuses, just not able to get it together enough to ride. Not that it should matter that much, but two of the above rides were MTB rides, which are a bit more strenuous than blasting out miles on the road, so there's that. I've gotta do something about this day job, it's getting in the way of riding.

Riding off road can be a lot more strenuous than riding on the road depending on the trail .
I tried riding a pipeline right away once . No trail to speak of . Other than beating me up going downhill , I wound up walking and pushing my bike back up the hill .
I’d like to try a real MTB trail , but for now I’ll stick with cart paths and neighborhood roads .

Path ride wound up a little shorter than anticipated. There were a couple of detours and on the last one , it wasn’t marked good . So we wound up on the main hwy for the last couple miles back to the parking lot. Ride has more hills than I expected and I had to walk up 4-5 hills . Fun ride though. . I’m beat .
