With a net elevation gain. Later that morning we climbed 5,200' Pipestone Pass on the way to Butte, MT. About a 10 mile climb.
Wish I had had more times to steady myself for the shot, but I had to stop and whip out the camera from my jersey pocket and snap before the moment was lost.

Highest elevation of that trip was 7,900’+. But that’s deceiving since we spent the night before at a hot springs lodge that was about 6 miles from the top. After that there was a 26 mile net elevation loss. Talk about fun.
