Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Welcome to Hotlanta! 10 inches of this strange white stuff all over the place. Whatever it is, sure is fun to ride in.

Oh, it is a huge party.

Actually lots of lines down and many of my neighbors are without power. We brought some thermos full of coffee and hot chocolate to some friends and if power doesn't come back might have them flop on the air mattress at our house tonight.

But yeah, everyone is digging it.

^see what I did there?

Do you even have plows down there?

We do! After they come through, we hit blistering speeds of 11-12mph!!

I don't have carbide studs on either of my fixed bikes.

Ride pics has never been discriminatory toward gears....well, there was that once when I posted my son's SS trike, that brought ire. Screw 'em, it's a single speed.

My memory must be crapping out. I thought I remembered people saying it was a great trike and high-fiving you for being a cool dad for building it for him. Isn't that the one you showed loaded on the roof of a car?

I got called out later for it not being a "bike" and therefore not belonging in this forum by a NOLA resident (with sweet whips) that I haven't seen around here for quite a while. Really no skin off my nose.

I see nothing wrong with ride pics of what you HAD to ride today. I have interest in how my SS/FG associates set up their bikes of other types! The SS/FG mentality seems to affect their geared rides positively.

Oh yeah, both Seasonal and stubborn :

This is what happens when a foot of heavy, wet snow falls for the first time in several generations.

This kid saw me coming down the road so he came out of his driveway and started doing wheelies.

I stopped to see the show, took a few photos and texted them to him.

The Niner gravel bike mowed right through it without even slowing down.

See post 107 in the Silver Comet Trail Photo thread.

A retired one lane bridge over the Pumpkinvine Creek, Dallas, GA.

Random cows.

Brushy Mountain Rd, Braswell, GA. Lots of rain here lately. The gravel is packed down and fast.
