Today I (v2):
Fresh Garbage
I got my first batch of tubeless homebrew sealant mixed and successfully got my tires to hold air. I was moments away from getting the mtb rolling with gears but my RD broke on installation. It is a used RD that I finally got around to using and it breaks...

haha that sucks, though i would consider that an overall success. homebrew sealant is a bigger accomplishment IMO

Also the Supersix Evo is a beautiful machine. Climbs like a champ, descends on rails. I'm so happy with this thing, and it'd be perfect with a -17 deg stem I think.
Also finally got my sub 2 hour goal for Hamilton l

Technically the next day, so today I, after a 30 mile ride, have decided that the dorps are just not for me. Swapping back to bullhorns when I get home. Cinelli Pepper bar is still sitting on my table. Might play with that bar on the TK2, might not.

I didn't realize Surly steel chainrings are made to fit 8 speed chains and I want 9 speed. No problem, angle grinder and flap disc will take care of that.

and congrats on not dying. That's terrible news about the tornado.
@hairnet got a recipe for the homebrew sealant you could share? Looks like most people use antifreeze. Wild.

+1 Been reading lots of Isaac Asimov lately
Antifreeze is an ingredient. I didn't much like the idea but it works. I refer you to this MTBR thread
1 part Latex Mold Builder from an art store
1 part Slime, 18oz from an auto store
1 part Antifreeze, cheapest green stuff with no additives
1 or 2 parts water
I mixed it all in a big glass jar and used the Slime bottle as the vessel for the new sealant mix.

I've lived here my whole life. tornadoes have always been a part of it. I've only been in one, fortunately....last night made me really nervous. it was outta nowhere. everyone I know- myself included- was bunkered down. looks like the people that died had their cars tossed off the highway. what a way to go.

preferably in the center of a large building. away from exterior walls and glass. some friends were bunkered in their basements (which are few and far between around here). if you're driving, stop under an underpass. if you're home, get in the bathtub and cover yourself with a mattress. the one tornado i was in was about 6yrs ago. I was in a coffee shop on my computer with headphones in and a barista taps me on my shoulder and said a tornado was in downtown (about 2mi away from us). we went into the stockroom and as soon as we got back there **** hit the fan. only lasted 20sec or so, but buildings were destroyed and trees were uprooted. I don't recall anyone being hurt tho. don't **** with nature.
