its a few min every few hundred miles, which admittedly is probably the same that I spend applying lube and cleaning the chain in that time period. i guess i just like it cause its clean

and yes the t shirt is cotton

TMonk is doing it all wrong. When waxing a chain it is critical to use a hydrophobic fabric. He's wasting a lot of wax.

But seriously.........

Do you clean the chain first? How do you make sure the old muck doesn't blend with the fresh wax?

Use synthetic wax. Problem solved.

Seriously, I was wondering about cleaning the chain prior as well. Using Boesheild T9, wax based, and it does keep the chain very clean. My guess is that with parrafin it only has to be cleaned the first time.

I started with a new chain and let it soak in degreaser for a while to remove the factory lube.

After that you're correct @TimothyH, no more cleaning required. I hate cleaning my bike.

Moving somewhere warmer is one of the best things I've ever done.

That said, we are getting snow this weekend for probably the only time this year. Everyone is panicking. I can't wait.

Unrelated; Today I bought a bike with someone else's money. Now if I only got to keep it.

Sweet 25" Araya on eBay right now. Local Pickup only in Wisco. Might be able to find a facilitator in C&V though.

In this New Years free time I got to ride with my Klunker bike friends

On New Years day I tagged along on an all day BMX ride. Had to borrow a though and it was a tad small.

And then I made biscuits and gravy from scratch

I have known about Klunker bikes for a long time but I had no idea anybody was still riding them. See his bikes in action sparked some enthusiasm and I gotta get on one. Now to find old Schwinn cruiser to give new life.

He has been hosting lots of rides around the valley lately and posting long term calenders. Choppercobras is gone, over, after 15 years, so he has putting energy into lots of other things.

Today I'm seriously tempted to get in on those sexy new Retrogression Tooth & Nail kits, even though I really don't need another kit. Excellent work, Kyle and Scrod!
